Cairns Beaches Nightlife
Cairns Beaches Nightlife Well we do not think this subject will excite too many people at all as beach life in the north of Queensland is quite subdued and relaxing. Tourists are always too wiped out after a big day on the Great Barrier Reef or the World Heritage rainforest or from hiking the beautiful waterfall circuits. All you can think of is a nice shower, some fine dining and then off to bed. You will be very surprised on how tired you will get when you are in Mother Natures backyard with fresh clean unpolluted air. Take the time and look up you into the |Cairns night sky and you will see all the stars that you probably never get to see where you come from.
Machans Beach has nil and null nightlife apart from the full moon festival which is quite a blast on the esplanade frontage with bands and food stalls, fun and frivolity around November. The full moons of November and December are also very important for the Great Barrier Reef at this time also as it is marks the beginning of the Coral Spawning season on the Great Barrier Reef and people come from around the world to dive and experience this amazing phenomenon. So the reef is having its own party.
Machans Beach other times of nightlife and fun is over the Christmas holidays when the whole Machans Beach community gets together to raise funds for the local SES and provide free fun and entertainment for kids with a sausage sizzle and games. Other activities are conducted in the Machans Beach community hall where they have nights of indoor bowls, card nights, and senior citizens activities. Machans Beach is a really great caring community to holiday and live in.
Holloway's Beach nightlife is a bit more active as the beachfront restaurants have entertainment on some nights to liven things up but apart from this be prepared to entertain you.
Yorkys Knob is a Cairns Beaches nightlife spot for a bit of north Queensland fun at the Yorkeys Knob Boat Club on the weekends with a small band for entertainment on Friday nights from 8 pm, Saturday night from 7pm to 11pm and Sunday afternoons that goes late into the afternoon. Just a small wee little dance a few drinks and then you are done apart from a bit of entertainment in the poker machine room.
Trinity Beach and Kewarra Beach is much the same and very quiet and relaxing, not one place provides entertainment in these little beach enclaves so it's early to bed for some rest and then up early for a Cairns day tour and some action and adventure.
Palm Cove on the other hand has a bit of fun happening at Apres Beach Bar and Grill. On Sunday lunch and evening they have a one man band. Monday evening the same musician plays over dinner. Other nights of the week they have Karaoke and Pub Quiz nights and beer promotions going on. Friday nights is crazy dueling pianos.
The Greek Taverna upstairs of the Palm Cove Village shopping centre has a belly dancer on Friday and Saturday nights with a bit of plate smashing and dancing.
Palm Cove Surf Lifesaving Club has themed fun nights through the week as well and a great little bistro courtyard out back.
Angsana Resort and Spa Palm Cove have a two piece band on Friday and Saturday evenings for some back ground music and so does the Sebel Reef House restaurant during the times of peak season.
Palm Cove holds some major events on the beachfront esplanade thru ought the year so keep an eye out!
