Argosy on the Beach has recently (October 2010) completed a refurbishment, ensuring your comfort during your holiday in Tropical North Queensland.
Argosy on the Beach Accommodation
Argosy on the Beach at Clifton has on!e and two bedroom four star holiday apartments. This low rise building has elevators that access each level and there are several suites that cater towards disabled travelers. All apartments at Argosy on the Beach have fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities with washing machines and driers, and are air conditioned, have TV/CD/DVD players, and telephones.
One Bedroom Apartments
There are 16 comfortable apartments in total at Argosy on the Beach. The one bedroom apartments have a queen sized bedroom with ensuite.
Two Bedroom Apartments
Two bedroom apartments have a queen sized bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds. There are two bathrooms in the two bedroom apartments and the second bathroom has a full size bathtub. All of the Argosy apartments have large balconies that overlook the tropical gardens and Coral Sea; perfect for a family dinner or a romantic meal.
Each holiday apartment has a fully self contained kitchen featuring a full sized refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave and dishwasher. Alternatively there is an outdoor entertainment and barbeque area where you can cook up some juicy steaks or freshly caught seafood. Coles Supermarket, located in The Clifton Beach Shopping Center, is only a few minutes away from Argosy on the Beach where you can stock up on all your weekly groceries. Other shops at Clifton Beach Shopping Center include a bakery, butcher, chemist, news agency, doctor’s office, dentist office and The Tour Specialists Tour Desk and Regional Information Centre.
Argosy on the Beach blends comfort, hospitality and style which are perfectly matched by the tropical surroundings. The focal point of the holiday complex is the salt water swimming pool which sits amongst the grassy ground, looking out onto the beach. The swimming pool is lit up at night creating a mood of exotic serenity. Garden lovers regularly comment on the immaculately maintained gardens which are home to several tropical birds, butterflies and wildlife.

Next to the swimming pool there is an undercover barbeque area which is free-of-charge for guests. There is a complimentary guest library, fax and email facilities and a radiant sauna. There are a few restaurants in Clifton beach which are walking distance from Argosy on the Beach. Mom and dad can enjoy a romantic dinner for two while the kids stay in with a babysitter.

Our apartment at Argosy on the Beach was great, very spacious and comfortable. The amenities there are excellent, as is Karen the Manager. Our stay was so relaxing, we will recommend the apartments to our friends and family and definitely stay there again.
Argosy on the Beach exceeded our expectations. Was very spacious and the view of the beautiful Clifton beach was such a treat! What a gorgeous beach, peaceful and hasn't been built up and ruined like many beach destinations in Australia. We stayed for five nights and could have easily done another five (isn't that always the way??) lots to see in the region and only a short stroll along the beach to Palm Cove (great restaurants) and even managed to find a good coffee - & we are fussy being spoilt for choice coming from Melbourne.
The only small complaint I have is we had to ask for more towels as 1 bath towel each for five nights isn't enough when you are showering regularly (being in the ocean every day) and I have long hair. Not sure how many towels other couples use a week but we would prefer two towels each while staying somewhere on holiday for more than 3/4 nights.
Only two beach towels were supplied also so next time I would take my own as spares. In saying this though Karen was kind enough to give us another two bath towels however I would have preferred not to ask. Other than this the Argosy was extremely clean and the rooms are well designed for a relaxing stay,the grounds are well cared for (beautiful and tropical) and a great poolside area. Short stroll to local shops and a nice Italian bistro around the corner.
Karen was very helpful when we had to book transfers and a day out to the Reef, she knows the area well and I liked the fact that while there you are given your privacy.
We will be back soon I hope and will stay longer next time! Thank you Argosy

I would like to mention however that the Argosy complex is and promoted as fully self-contained apartments with full (separate) laundry facilities, washing machine, dryer and clothes drying rack.
The apartments are serviced for stays exceeding 7+ nights including a full linen change and we feel our complimentary Pool/Beach towels are a nice touch(most places charges for these).
We understand some people confuse this type of accommodation with motel/hotel style services however 'self-contained' is as described.

Argosy on the Beach was great. I enjoyed early morning coffee on the deck watching the sun come up and at glass of wine some evenings watching it set back into the water. A swim to cool off during the day, and the beach was just a few steps from the front walk way. The condo was vey nice and well kept. The grounds were very well kept and had a few small Wallabies in the back yard. Would do it all again in a heartbeat!! Pat M.
